Hey! did you know Disneyland added a new ride. It's called 5.4 Earthquake and hits right as you are entering the park! Both Gary and Candace thought this was the case. We were going into California Adventure after all and what's California without shakers (as they call them here, such a jovial name for such a crazy scary thing). Me? I had no idea what was going on, I was very confused and thought my balance was being thrown off or something... oh no I have an inner ear infection! Nope, just an earthquake. The best part? Turns out that when there is an earthquake they have to shut the park down and check all the rides buildings etc which when you look at the size of this place you know is going to take a while. For two hours, Disneyland was the sittiest, walkiest place on earth. The good part of all this was the park cleared out quite a bit as some just decided it wasnt safe for their kids and others felt this wasnt worth it and stood in line to get their money back. As a result we didnt wait more than 1/2 hour for any ride all day and many were far less than that.
We rode Star Tours (as dated as last time, hey Lucas instead of remastering my childhood for the umpteenth time how about this scant 3 minutes of footage huh?), Innoventions (a glimpse at the future, a future in which Microsoft rules the world and only Xboxes exist (fine by me). The touch house was cool, you can change a whole room to your fav settings (lights, windows, music) all very cool. Then came the Matterhorn which was totally awesome. I loooooved that one, we could have gone again too but someone (Candace *ahem*) was too chicken. It was a great ride though, a just my speed roller coaster. We headed back to Cali Adventure and rode Soaring Over California which was awesome... again. That is a seriously cool ride. After that is was Muppets (Candace loves the Muppets and this was a lot of fun to experience with her.) Finally it was Monsters Inc. a newer, lackluster ride. It wasnt bad, some of the effects were cool but for a new ride it felt dated with static statues that had moving limbs spouting line from the movie. It felt a little half assed to be honest. At thisd point my dogs were barking so we headed for home. A Jack in the Box Sirloin Sandwich, a lat night swim and a little Nightly News coverage of the earthquake later and I was done. I am feeling good though. This is so much fun!
