So first day here and Candace isnt feeling well, we figure it is a migraine cause of the flight or something. I am now left to my own devices. I have loved Ripley's Believe it or Not since I was kid, I used to get the books out of the library all the time. Turns out there's a Ripley's museum nearby so I thought I would go and check it out. The first part of the adventure was learning to drive a half ton truck that we have to use here. It's big but I did more than OK, I like feeling all big andf powerful, much like I do when I walk around, hehe. So I get to the museum and it is in an area that I didnt realize I knew from the last time I was here, the bad news of that being there is a lot of cheesy touristy crap here. The museum was kind of what I expected, like a sideshow museum of oddities with some little hands on kinds of things. As a kid I would have been in heaven. The attention to detail was pretty lacking. One exhibit declared that Sir Walter Raleigh's wife was so distraught when he died she carried his head around on a pillow for 18 years and there next it was a wax widow with a wax head... on a silver platter. Maybe it was built during the pillow famine of nineteen ought nine or something. I had fun though and it was a nice brief getaway.
When I got home Candace was feeling a bit better and Gary and Maggi offered to show us Huntington Beach proper and man is it cool. The ocean is amazing, we walked the pier and watched the surfers, which made me excited for when Korey and Heidi join us. I think Ko and I will have a hoot boogie boarding it up as my wife watches from the beach due to an irrational fear of sharks. We went for a pizza supper at BJ's which was very tasty, not Chicago tasty but tasty. It was a great relaxing first day. Tomorrow, the return to Disneyland!

I don't think a fear of sharks is irrational - it's quite rational, especially when near the ocean.
well maybe... I just want her to go in the ocean is all... ;)
