Fringe Benefits

I have to be honest about something. I don't understand my health benefits plan. Now there are changes being made and it feels vaguely like a rectal exam in that while the lubricant is helpful I still end up with something being put somewhere unpleasant and feeling awkward and violated afterwards. I know it is a competitive thing, and ultimately a moneymaking thing for the company that gives us the benefits but… *sigh* why does all this crap have to be so ding dang confusing. Our benefits are changing, turning into some sort of weird flex thing that I really just do not understand at all. It may mean I have to pay more to get the same benefits I am used to, I have to suddenly notify them if I intend to continue to invest in the program. I know costs have been going up and everything but seriously trying to sell me a product that I KNOW is less as more is kind of insulting. Tell me the difficulties we are having paying for this thing. Tell me that this is the best solution for the problem and that yes you know it isn't as good as what it was but it is the best you can do. Basically now I am just left feeling uncertain about the future of my health care and that really sucks, especially since all the way through sem I was told how awesome our health care plan was.
