Firsties

Ever heard of a firstie, they are the guys on forums, usually the ones that are attached to articles, and their subject line, almost without fail, has something to do with the being the first to post. It is as though they have won some sort of race and wish to let the world know that they were there when that article was posted a 4 in the morning. I guess it is a bit of an accomplishment, after all everyone in the world who has internet has access to that website and at any given moment could post it.
I think what is even funnier is the people who get irate at firsties because they are first. Usually these silly things take up so little space and yet some bonehead decides he has to rant on it for as long as his space will allow, sometimes even letting it run into two responses. And keep in mind they are supposed to be talking about the article, who got cast in a new movie, or the price of gas or whatever. Firsties aren't nearly as much a nuisance as the guys who pay attention to them. Those guys crack me up because they are popping a vein over something that would be best left unnoticed. Do you really think threatening some unknown stranger's family is going to help?
