Our last day. As I look back and read all these posts and as I go through the photos we have taken I realize that for me this has been a big chunk of time to be gone. I am so excited about getting home, but I havent missed it like I used to on vacation. We did too much stuff to care, to many fun memories were made to lament leaving home. Being in an Earthquake at Disneyland at 11:42am will always rank up there as one of my favorite lifetime experiences.
Today we woke up, had breakfast and made use of one of the many hop on hop off tours here in SF. Basically it is a fixed bus route and you can get off at any one of the 21 stops with another bus coming round every 30 minutes or so. The downside is that the hours suck. They only run until 5 so you have to plan accordingly. We rode it to Alamo Park and took pictures of the famous painted lady houses there, the houses from Full House in other words. We rode it to the far side of the Golden Gate Bridge and took pictures there as the other side was completely fogged in. We got to see lots of the city. The one thing about these tours though is that they are on a double decker bus and the top level is open. We discovered that people covet this level and will not give up their seats for anything, so we decided to wait it out till everyone got off and then go up and ride around again. So we did, and it was really worth it. A number of times I got to see things I didnt see the first time around plus I was way up above the traffic so it lent itself to a more personal adventure without as much hustle and bustle feeling. We got off at Fisherman's wharf, had a seafood supper, and then decided to head off to Lombard St. the crookedest street in the world as it is called. I was doing fine up until this point, my legs had behaved themselves, but this hill was it. It had to be at least 45 degrees and it was two blocks long to get to the part we wanted to see. When I reached the top (but I did reach the top) I knew I was done. Korey and Heidi had grander schemes but my feet were already going back to the hotel. We saw the street and Candace and I headed back to the Hotel, riding the F-line Trolley to our stop.
Korey and Heidi showed up about an hour later with beverages to toast our trip and celebrate our time together. It was a great time, and I am glad I got to go with people I love, most importantly Candace. Marriage isnt any fun without chared adventures and I love that we have all these amazing memories that we made and I know we will make many more. This also marks the first time on a trip that I have managed to maintain my blogging every single day I was on the trip. I know it may not have been the most scintillating read all the time, but I like that I have a record like this. So if you have stuck with me on this trip, thank you and I hope you enjoyed a little bit too.
As always, I will be posting some more pics on Facebook.
