Finally finales...

I love way too many shows. Here are my brief thoughts on my favs...

24…

"I love you with all my heart." Jack Bauer, what the heck man. You cut people’s hands off, you are an interrogator, you have bitten a guy’s throat out. You are not meant to end a season mourning over lost love and staring off morosely into the sunset… this is an anti-terrorist thriller TV show and you made it the Notebook. Way to go man. And Holy cow Chloe is pregnant I can hardly believe it, I wonder who the father is, will her and Morris ever sort things out, I can’t wait till next season to see who Nadia ends up with. OH WAIT I CAN BECAUSE THIS IS FREAKIN 24 AND NOT THE OC. So disappointing.

Heroes…

So how do I stop an exploding man? Fly him way up in the air and hire an incompetent director who sucked all emotion and suspense out of the last episode we have all been waiting to see. Love the start of volume 2 and I will be back but man it is sure frustrating to have it emphasized so much that Hiro stabs Sylar and all that and then he… stabs… him… and that’s it. It felt that blah, that unimportant, that meh. And then Nathan’s sudden, though predictable turn into a good guy who’ll help his little brother. I walk away feeling kind unaffected by the whole thing.

Lost…

Awesome. Jack is such a pain and I have felt that way for a long time. He’s this bossy, annoying alpha male who assumes control and he just bugs me. Sawyer is the leader I like in the group, thrust into it despite himself, vulnerable to his own particular foibles. I will say he may have crossed a line he is unable to come back from, becoming 815’s Punisher. Good to see Locke back in form, I would have been very sad to see him go. I felt Charlie’s death lacked a certain resonance, not from a writing perspective but a directing one. Looks like the other and the 815ers will have to team up against a new threat, although now the others have been brutally decimated. Jack’s descent is going to be interesting but painful to watch. No new Lost till 2008, now that sucks.

CSI…

Miami was good. NY was awesome. Vegas was annoying. So you hide the killers face all season and then just show us in the first minute, I was looking forward to whodunit, and I was robbed of that. It shows a lack of planning ahead and made the best season of the show feel flat and blah.

Smallville…

Seriously awesome. Not as good as last seasons finale but pretty freakin cool nonetheless. Lex arrested! Lana dead!?! Clark vs. Bizarro! Sooo good, the last shot of Bizarro Clark flying and morphing into that angular corrupted monstrosity from the comics was very very cool, I rewound and watched it again a bunch of times. Can’t wait for next season!

Scrubs…

Everyone must watch this show! I am praying JD and Elliot don’t do something completely stupid and ruin their current relationship. This is one show that has remained consistently funny for its entire run and I am so glad it got another season.

How I met your mother…

Great season ender, so glad it isn’t really the series end and got renewed. Marshall still has to smack Barney 3 more times and we still haven’t met the mother. Best ensemble comedy cast since friends, I would encourage any Friends fan to pick it up and give it a shot next season. Suit up!

Sopranoes…

It aint over yet, but man is it good. I can’t believe Tony whacked Christophuh! AJ is a whiny punk! Paulie is as lovable as ever, good stuff!

Scrubs and Lost are the onlytwo I watch...

I do agree with you on scrubs. I laugh at every single episode. I love how they can touch on non-funny topics but still make you laugh in a tasteful way (the nurse death and the pregnancy resurrection come to mind). I will be glad to have this one back for another season...

On Lost... Charlies death... well... I didnt care for it, or the way it played out... It came at a perfect time and all, but... *shrugs*... I'm just beginning to care for James (is it right to call him sawyer now that sawyer is dead?). The whole back story and resolution really justified him in my eyes. Locke? I despise the character now... Don't know if it is intentional but from the death of Ecko on I cringe every time he's on the screen. Jack is still the unwilling hero. He wants to be how james acts (like anything that doesnt directly concern him has no bearing on his decisions) but everyone views him as the most competant and thus the most willing... I was expecting a little more from the rouseau reunion, but that will most likely be touched on in the next season...
I'm kinda glad this series has a finite ending now, since that means that a lot of the questions can be answered without having to worry about "how do we create more plot" functions...

i'm so ticked that lost doesn't return until feb '08. i think they do that just to torture me.
