278 and falling...

So I have been losing some weight, and I am now officially lighter than I have been in over 8 years, which is cool. The crazy thing is I still have 30+ pounds to go... I am going to be skinny, at least that's the plan. My secret? Well, I wouldn't say there is any big secret other than seeing it as a challenge and not being to hard on myself if I cheat occasionally. I have stopped drinking pop and juice (I was up to 2-3 cans of Coke a day and rarely drank water, it had to be juice or iced tea or something.) and I have learned to drink water and tea (tea has no calories, and I drink decaf too). I have gone through a bit of withdrawal but mostly in the tired, draggin my butt way. So far no headaches. The other stuff has been no (or at least very little) red meat and no carbs after 4 so just chicken or fish and veggies for supper. Last night it was wings and carrots, cucumber, and snap peas. The biggest challenge has been going to bed hungry. I often feel the pangs of hunger to the point where at times I am ravenous and the only way I have found that works to keep up the diet is to give in occasionally, not crazy gluttonous give in mind you, but have a bit of dessert or a few chips or something, satisfy the cravings and move on. AND IT'S WORKING! It's kind of cool, I don't really like being overweight, but I am really starting to notice a difference in my energy level and in my acid reflux. 250 here I come! and 230 better watch out!

Hey dude, this is kick ace. The key for us desk jobbers is metabolism (5 small meals/day) and exercise which may even translate into smaller walks. Its a tough row to hoe but I am pullin' for ya! Great job!
