How Jack Burton got his groove back...

Occasionally songs come along that lift me out of the mire I am in and get me grooving the way I normally like to. These are usually pop songs that any sane person would be unwilling to admit to enjoying because they are so treacly sweet and cloying they annoy serious folks, but I LOVE them. After coming off one of the more serious times I have had in my life I am more and more feeling myself and there are two songs that are pushing me along right now. Normally it’s one but I guess God knew I needed two.

1. Grace Kelly by Mika
If you haven’t heard this song, find it and listen to it. This guy is the Bee Gees, Freddie Mercury (no kidding, holy vocal range Batman) and Abba all rolled into one totally catchy addictive song. His album isn’t out just yet I don’t think, I have the European version, but soooooo good if you want to get rid of the blues.

2. Here (In your arms) by Hellogoodbye
It’s like your old NES crawled out of the closet and decided to sing a happy song. I can’t get enough of these guys. In a bizarre twist I read these guys are considered emo which to me is just silly, because I hate emo and this is not emo. It reminds me of all of those crazy dance one hit wonders from the 1990’s. Mostly like that Blue song. Regardless I love it and you should look it up too.

Thanks to these two songs I am dancing in the living room again!
