Pray...
I am not feeling very funny this week. I have a funeral for a 21 year old man who was killed by someone too callous to even stop, and too cowardly to turn themselves in. To me, this young man is a stranger, I never met him, and yet I feel more emotional about this than any funeral I have done lately. He has gone home to be with the Lord though, and it was a relief to discover that he knew who Jesus was. I feel for the family, it is always hard to lose someone but even harder when they are so suddenly and so harshly plucked from this world. God has given me the privilege of proclaiming the Gospel to the family and to the friends, and I would ask that you pray for all of them, that their hearts would be opened, that God’s Word would take root, and that His comfort and strength would be their comfort and strength. I would also ask you to pray for the person who did this, that their heart would be convicted and that they would face the consequences of their actions so that this family can get some closure and so that person can eventually find forgiveness.
