Y’know I realize that things can’t be perfect in this world, but there is something that has bugged me for a long time that is really starting to get to me… CTV and Global cutting in on my network shows. I am pretty sure this happens with cable subscribers too (I am a satellite man myself) but to me there is nothing more irritating than watching the first couple of minutes of a show, sometimes already being sucked in and then BLOOP (I guess that would be the right sound effect, BAM don’t seem right, neither do, BaBoom or BLING!) my show time travels back to a couple of minutes ago and I have to start all over. The worst is on shows like Law & Order:SVU and House, shows where they have rather tense opening sequences to set up the show.
There was one last week where a gunman opens fire on a playground, and just as the intensity begins BLOOP! I nearly swore at CTV, which is just wrong and unpatriotic (especially since they are the network that airs the comic genius that is Corner Gas), it would be like cursing out the CBC, only slightly less so. Anyway, the point is this is driving me nuts and they need to fix their timing. If you insist on cutting in to the American channels so that I see Canadian commercials, do it right for crying out loud!

Now I agree that "BLOOP" is a good effect for this phenomenon.
However, I think that it is completely wrong that Canadian networks can cut in on the American channels. It blows my mind and it sucks (both the cutting in and the blowing of my mind..I like my mind and I miss it).
